Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data displayed in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.
An anonymised string of characters generated from your email address (also known as a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service in order to check whether you are using it.

Your profile picture will be visible to the public in the context of your comment once it has been approved.
Media
Avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) when uploading images to the site.
Users can download and extract any location data from images on the site.
Cookies
You can choose to have your name, email address and website stored in cookies when you leave a comment on our site.
These are for your convenience so that you do not have to re-enter your details the next time you leave a comment. These cookies last for one year.
We set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies when you visit our login page.
This cookie does not contain any personally identifiable information and will be discarded when you close your browser.
We also set a number of cookies to store your login details and screen display choices when you log in.
Login cookies are good for two days and screen options cookies are good for one year.
If you select Remember Me, your login will be kept for two weeks.
If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser.
This cookie does not contain any personal information and simply indicates the post ID of the article you have just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.) may be included in articles on this site.

Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How long we retain your data
When you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely.
This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users who register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile.
All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Site administrators can also view and edit this information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
You also have the right to request the deletion of any personal information that we have about you.
The exception to this is information that we are under a duty to retain for administrative, legal or security purposes.
